This transmitter which is provided with an internal apparatus for transmitting broadcast signals is also provided with nonvolatile memory, an internal apparatus control unit, and a central processing unit (CPU). The nonvolatile memory has setting information of the internal apparatus stored therein. The internal apparatus control unit reads out the setting information from the nonvolatile memory when a power supply is turned on, and controls the internal apparatus on the basis of the setting information. Furthermore, the CPU starts up an operating system (OS) when the power supply is turned on. |
