1,083,781. Reciprocating pumps. R. DECAUX. Jan. 7, 1966 [Jan. 7, 1965; July 15, 1965], No.751/66. Heading F1A. In an atomizing spray pump the skirt 10 of the piston closes the outlet to the nozzle B when the piston is in its upper position. On depression of the piston discharge takes place through the valve 15, the interior of the stem 12, the passage 26 and the annular space between the upper and lower portions 14, 10 of the piston to passages leading to the nozzle B. When the piston is in its lower position air flows through the nozzle B to the annular space which is then in communication with a passage 23 leading to the interior of the container. In a modification the air inlet passage is just below the lower edge of the skirt 10 when the piston is in its upper position and is of a length in the direction of the piston axis that it is just closed by the skirt 10 when the passages to the nozzle B are opened to the annular space.
|
