PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feed roller which reduces accumulation of paper powder on the cylindrical surface, prevents effectively retardation of the paper conveyance amount with respect to the rotation angle of the roller shaft due to deformation and falling-down of convex parts of the cylindrical surface and occurrence of abrasion even when an external force is applied and allows stable feeding of paper even in a long-term use.SOLUTION: A large number of concave parts (22) are formed in a cylindrical surface (21). The large number of the concave parts (22) are arranged regularly in the axial and circumferential directions of a cylindrical part (20) in such a manner that areas of the cylindrical surface (21) lying among the concave parts (22) constitute a lattice-like pattern. The arrangement of the concave parts (22) reduces the area of the cylindrical surface (21), preventing accumulation of paper dust on the cylindrical surface (21). Retardation of the paper conveyance amount with respect to the rotation angle of the roller shaft due to deformation and falling-down of convex parts of the cylindrical surface (21) and occurrence of abrasion are also reduced, thus leading to sufficient acquisition of a friction force required for paper feeding in a long-term use. |
