PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary position sensor assembly with the use of a noncontact-type position sensor not influenced by a turbulent magnetic field, mechanical vibration and disturbance.SOLUTION: The sensor assembly for detecting a movable object includes an enclosure 322 which defines an internal cavity. A rotor 380 is held within the cavity. The rotor 380 defines a central hole 384, and a magnet 400 is attached to a pocket 405 located out of the center defined by the rotor 380. The rotor 380 is connected to a shaft of the movable object whose position is to be measured. A sensor 430 is held within the cavity so that the sensor overlaps at least with the magnet 400, and generates an electric signal indicating the position of the movable object by detecting a direction of the magnetic field generated at least by the magnet 400. |
