The method involves inserting a contact element (11) in a tool half (3) of a tool (1). An integrated electrical line (17) is inserted in a contact opening of the contact element. A tool cavity (7) between the tool half and another tool half (5) is closed. A fixing region (13) of the contact element is shaped with a material of a planar component. A contact region (15) of the contact element is held free from the material. The tool cavity is opened. The planar component is removed from the opened tool cavity. The planar component is provided with a contact point for contacting the line. The contact element is a metallic contact pin. The integrated electrical line is a cable. An independent claim is also included for a tool.
