The device (10) has a support surface (14) for engaging a component and a holding element (15) rotatable and axial adjustable with a base body. A support body (16) is designed in a form of an eccentric cam plate, and comprises the support surface opposite to another support surface (17) for engaging at another component. The support body is pivotable for adjustment between a fixing position and a releasing position by a rotating movement and provided to act in the fixing position with a holding force on the latter component. An independent claim is also included for a method for fixing and/or bracings of support bodies of a retention device.
