<p>An embodiment of the present invention relates to a character input method. The purpose of the present invention is to provide a character input method using a remote controller, which is capable of reducing the number of keystrokes compared to an existing input method and providing the pleasure of input by variously changing a screen keyboard shape. To this end, the character input method using a remote controller according to the present invention comprises the steps of: displaying an on-screen keyboard comprising a plurality of characters; specifying the characters displayed on the on-screen keyboard as a plurality of groups, and moving to a character group selected according to a direction key operation signal of the remote controller and displaying the character group; rearranging and displaying characters of the selected character group according to a select key operation signal of the remote controller; and displaying and inputting a character selected among the rearranged characters according to a direction key signal of the remote controller.
