PURPOSE: A wireless input device which consuming low power and a saving method thereof are provided to save power consumption by converting a power saving mode during input waiting and to maintain an active mode corresponding to input, thereby processing a corresponding schedule. CONSTITUTION: A wireless input device sets check time of sensing whether user operation or not for an input unit(S20). When a command is inputted to the input unit, the wireless input device operates corresponding to a schedule in response to the command(S30,S40). When the command is not inputted to the input unit, the wireless input device converts to a power saving mode until next check time and returns to an active mode in the next check time(S60).
