PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting element having a novel lead frame structure.SOLUTION: A light emitting element comprises: a body 111 having a first and a second external sides 61, 62 facing with each other, a third and a fourth external sides 64, and a cavity 101 upwardly opened; a first lead frame 121 extending from a bottom of the cavity 101 toward the first external side 61; a second lead frame 131 extending from the bottom of the cavity 101 toward the second external side 62; and a light emitting chip 171 arranged on the first lead frame 121. The cavity 101 has first and second internal sides 11, 12 corresponding to the first and second external sides 61, 62, a gap between the second internal side 12 and the light emitting chip 171 is narrower than that between the first internal side 11 and the light emitting chip 171, and a width of the second internal side 12 is narrower than that of the first internal side 11. |
