PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium with which an image on a part requiring no rewriting is not renewed but only an image on a part requiring rewriting is renewed, and on which an image is recorded with high efficiency and in a resource saving manner, and to provide a method for renewing the recording medium.SOLUTION: A recording medium is a recording material which has at least a substrate, a first image receiving layer, and an image protective layer, and in addition has an image rewriting layer composed of a release layer and a second image receiving layer which are sequentially laminated. The image rewriting layer is formed on a section of the substrate, and/or on the image protective layer on an area where the substrate, the first image receiving layer, and the image protective layer are laminated, the substrate and the image protective layer have water resistance, and the release layer is an aqueous resin. |
