The present technique relates to a power supply device and method as well as a program which allow a billing process to be surely performed in charging a vehicle. When a vehicle ID registered in advance in an external storage matches a vehicle ID acquired by a reader/writer, a control unit controls a lock control part to fit a lock of an outlet into a hole in a projection of a plug and lock the connection between the outlet and the plug. The control unit in this state turns on a selector switch to charge a battery of an electric vehicle from a charger. Once charging has been completed, the control unit controls a billing part to calculate the amount of electric power so that a billing server performs a billing process for the amount of money corresponding to the amount of electric power. |
