In the present invention, an electronic pen is caused to be usable in both a use method of being used contacting the image display surface of an image display device, and a use method of being used at a position apart from the image display surface. To said end, the electronic pen is provided with: a main body case; a first light reception element that is provided to one end of the main body case and that receives light entering the one end; a light collection lens that is provided to the other end of the main body case and that collects light entering the other end; and a second light reception element that receives light collected by the collection lens.
