The invention relates to a device for extracting carbon-containing substances, particularly bitumen, from oil sand deposits. The device comprises a circuit (13), by which the heating of the fields (1-12) can be carried out either exclusively by the SAGD process, exclusively by the EMGD process or simultaneously by the SAGD and the EMGD processes. The invention further relates to a method for extracting carbon-containing substances, particularly bitumen, from oil sand deposits using such a device.
