The compressor (1) has a compressor chamber (5) that is arranged on a compressor wheel (6) for conveying and compressing a gas. The compressor is provided to an intake passage (3) facing axial inlet side (7), to the outlet channel (4) facing the radial outlet side (8) and an axial wheel surface contour (9). A compressor housing (2) is fastened to an adapter element (10). A surface contour (13) of adapter element is formed complementary to the axial wheel surface contour. A fastening element (20) is provided to fasten the adapter element releasably on the outside of the housing. An independent claim is included for supercharger.
