The present invention relates to a separator for an electrochemical element and an electrochemical element including the same and, more specifically, to a separator which includes: a porous base material; a porous coating layer which is formed on at least one surface of the porous base material and includes a network structure formed by inorganic particles being connected to each other and binder polymers. The thermal conductivity of the network structure is equal to or greater than 50 W/mK. According to the present invention, by including the porous coating layer which includes the network structure formed by inorganic particles being connected to each other and having high thermal conductivity, the separator is able to deliver heat generated inside an electrochemical element to the outside and discharge the heat outside the electrochemical element, thereby enhancing safety of the electrochemical element. |
