PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device which features increased efficiency of light extraction, and is designed to prevent change in quality or deterioration of a reflection layer and a reduction in reflectance.SOLUTION: A light emitting device 1003 includes: an LTCC substrate 11; a plurality of external terminals 72, 82 disposed on the LTCC substrate; a heat dissipation via 22 located in the LTCC substrate; a light reflection layer 2 which is not electrically connected to the external terminals, and disposed on the heat dissipation via; an LED chip 4 electrically connected to the external terminals, and disposed on the upper face of the light reflection layer via a coating layer 3; and a sealing resin 62 sealing the LED chip. The light reflection layer has a thickness thinner than the thickness of the heat dissipation via, and a part of the lower face of the light reflection layer is connected to the upper face of the heat dissipation via. The coating layer covers the upper face of the light reflection layer and the side faces of the light reflection layer, and transmits light emitted from the LED chip and reflected by the light reflection layer. |
