PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which can assure high recording quality by using a recording medium according to a purpose and can suppress increase in size due to holding the medium according to the purpose.SOLUTION: A printer 100 includes a printer unit 101 which performs recording operation to a recording medium P1 drawn out from a first recording medium holding part 201 and performs recording operation to a recording medium P2 held by a second recording medium holding part 216 included in a paper feed and inversion unit 102. The paper feed and inversion unit 102 includes a third recording medium conveying path 224 through which the recording medium P2 printed on one side is reversed and fed again to a recording part 204 of the printer unit 101. The third recording medium conveying path 224 partially overlaps a second recording medium conveying path 217 through which the recording medium P2 is fed to the printer unit 101.
