PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a processing time.SOLUTION: A decoloring apparatus in an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a paper feeding part for feeding a recording medium; a paper ejection part for ejecting a recording medium; a first conveyance path forming a path from the paper feeding part toward the paper ejection part; a reading part disposed in the first conveyance path and reading an image of the recording medium; a second conveyance path branching off from the downstream of the reading part of the first conveyance path and joining the upstream of the reading part of the first conveyance path; a decoloring part disposed in the second conveyance path and decoloring an image of the recording medium; and a control part for controlling to convey the recording medium in the decoloring part at a first conveyance speed and to convey it in the reading part at a second conveyance speed, and for controlling to change at least either one of the first conveyance speed and the second conveyance speed, in accordance with a processing mode.
