PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool that can stabilize machining quality of a workpiece mainly made of a difficult-to-machine material at a level of high quality and suppress the occurrence of fire, and that is practical and has no limit to the shape of the workpiece, and that can execute low frequency vibration cutting with optimum vibration allowing fine cutting of chip for rotation speed of the workpiece or rotation speed of a cutting tool, can execute the low frequency vibration cutting with a waveform made closer to a smooth and fine sine wave, and can suppress damage of the cutting tool.SOLUTION: A machine tool includes a cutting tool feeding mechanism 7 holding a cutting tool 4 for machining a workpiece and causing the cutting tool 4 to perform a feeding operation to a workpiece 2, and a control device 8 causing the cutting tool 4 to perform low frequency vibration by gradually increasing amplitude by controlling a cutting tool feeding driving motor 7a serving as a driving source of the cutting tool feeding mechanism 7. |
