PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer or the like which can perform efficient mounting detection and electric power control.SOLUTION: A printer includes: a printing material storing body 100 having a storage device 203 for storing printing material information; a processing part 310 for controlling reading/writing of data from/in the storage device 203; a power supply part 320 for supplying electric power to the storage device 203; and a control circuit 330 to be connected with a first body side power terminal CVDD and a body side mounting detecting terminal CCO. The control circuit 330 outputs a mounting detecting signal to a control node NA based on a voltage level of the body side mounting detecting terminal CCO. The processing part 310 performs the mounting detection of the printing material storing body 100 based on the mounting detecting signal from the control node NA. The processing part 310 outputs a control signal to the control node NA after detecting the mounting of the printing material storing body 100. The control circuit 330 supplies or does not supply a first power voltage VDD based on the control signal. |
