The distance l from the point of application of test voltage to the point of the single-phase short-circuit is determined using a formulawhere Ris the resistance of the intact phase of the line, L is the length of the line. Measurement accuracy is increased by measuring the actual resistance of the intact phase of the electric power line before testing using the relationship R=0.5 U/I. To this end, a test source is connected to two phases of the damaged line and test current I is measured.
