PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an electrode for aluminum electrolytic capacitor use by which a porous layer can be prevented from being destroyed during a thermal depolarization process even in the case of using ammonium adipate aqueous solution for chemical synthesis on a porous aluminum electrode.SOLUTION: A porous aluminum electrode 10 has: an aluminum core material 20; and a porous layer 30 on the surface of the aluminum core material, which is formed by sintering aluminum powder. A method for manufacturing an electrode for aluminum electrolytic capacitor use comprises: a first chemical synthesis process including the step of performing a chemical synthesis on the porous aluminum electrode 10 until reaching a voltage of 200 V or high, in which the chemical synthesis is performed in ammonium adipate aqueous solution at a solution temperature of 80°C or below after pure water boiling; a second chemical synthesis process in which a chemical synthesis is performed in boric acid-based aqueous solution; and a thermal depolarization process. When the thermal depolarization process is performed firstly, a water rinse treatment is conducted for five minutes or longer before the thermal depolarization process. |
