PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold primary transfer pressure constant with a simple configuration at a low cost to suppress the occurrence of abnormal image.SOLUTION: A transfer device includes a plurality of transfer means each including: an image carrying member that carries a toner image; a transfer member that is conveyed in a predetermined direction to be brought into contact with the image carrying member so that the toner image carried on the image carrying member is formed thereon; and a contact member that brings the transfer member into contact with the image carrying member. The transfer means includes: first transfer means including expansion means for expanding the contact member in a direction substantially vertical to the conveyance direction of the transfer member; and second transfer means including a holding member for holding the contact member that is provided on the downstream side relative to the conveyance direction of the transfer member and rotatable around a support shaft. |
