PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compounds that activate soluble guanylate cyclase and are suitable for therapy and prophylaxis of disorders which are associated with a low cGMP level, e.g., cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension, heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, angina pectoris, diabetes, cardiac dysfunction, thromboses or atherosclerosis.SOLUTION: Provided are pyrimidinyl ring derivatives of the formula (I) or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, where A represents an 8- or 9-membered bicyclic heteroaryl ring system, comprising a ring fused to a 5- or 6-membered ring so that the fused rings share two adjacent atoms. |
