PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain loss reduction and integration degree enhancement of an integrated optical circuit on a single SOI substrate concurrently.SOLUTION: An optical transducer, which has a taper waveguide connecting a first waveguide and a second waveguide 2 which are flat waveguides and cross orthogonally with each other in the long side directions of core cross-sections, is configured so that both side faces of the core 3 of the taper waveguide form a taper reverse, in direction, to a taper formed by an inclination plane, serving as a top face of the core, and a bottom face, and a width of the core 3 of the taper waveguide is constituted by a combination of a portion in monotonous variation and a constant part in a waveguide direction. |
