The method involves providing a digital printer (14) with multiple print stations (16-28) for different colors of a recording medium to print digital information that is supplied from the print stations. A print image is fixed in a fusing station (32). The printed recording medium is supplied to an embossing station (34) during fixing the print image in the fusing station. The recording medium is provided with haptic information by embossing a blank side of the recording medium depending on the digital information that is supplied from the embossing station. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an embossing station (2) a system for printing an image on a recording medium.
