PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform color shift correction without generation of time loss in an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: An image forming method comprises the steps of: determining, in color shift correction processing, whether or not the calculated correction amount is a value that cannot be reflected on image formation conditions in a period from the end of detection of a test pattern array to the start of the subsequent page; calculating, when the calculated correction amount is the value cannot be reflected on the image formation conditions in a period from the end of the detection of the test pattern array to the start of printing of the subsequent page, the modified correction amount by converting the calculated correction amount into a value that can be reflected on the image formation conditions in a time from the end of the detection of the test pattern array to the start of printing of the subsequent page; and reflecting the calculated correction amount or the modified correction amount on the image formation conditions. |
