PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device which improves traveling stability of a vehicle.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device comprises: an interlock control means 7 for maintaining an engagement state of engagement elements of a transmission 12 to apply a braking force to wheels 13 when restarting an engine 11 mounted on a vehicle 10; an engine driving power calculation means 3 for calculating a driving power generated by the engine 11; and a braking force calculation means 4 for calculating a braking force generated in a brake device 14 of the vehicle 10. The interlock control means 7 calculates and generates an interlock holding power on the basis of the difference between the engine driving power and the braking force.
