The electromechanical steering system (1) has a steering rod (3) that is extended through a steering gear housing (2). An electromotor (7) is coaxially arranged with the steering rod, and is arranged in steering gear housing. An input side of reduction gear is coupled to the electromotor. A converting device is provided for converting a rotating movement to a translational movement. An input side of converting device is coupled with an output side of reduction gear, while output side is coupled with the steering rod.
