PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image sensor capable of preventing a reduction in ranging image quality and a reduction in ranging accuracy caused by photographing conditions.SOLUTION: An image sensor includes first pixels 110 which receive and photoelectrically convert light fluxes from a first pupil area of an exit pupil of an optical system 101, second pixels 120 which receive and photoelectrically convert light fluxes from a second pupil area which is eccentrically positioned from the exit pupil centroid in a first direction, and third pixels 130 which receive and photoelectrically convert light fluxes from a third pupil area which is eccentrically positioned from the exit pupil centroid in a second direction opposite the first direction. The image sensor has a first image sensor area with a plurality of first and second pixels arranged therein and a second image sensor area with a plurality of first and third pixels arranged therein, where the first image sensor area is positioned on one side deviated from a position at which an optical axis of an optical system passing through on the image sensor is a center and the second image sensor area is positioned on the other side. |
