PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a mobile communication terminal and its control method that restrain execution of unnecessary processing of location registration if a user is in a state of not requiring an incoming call.SOLUTION: The mobile communication terminal comprises: a monitor 102; a lighting detection unit 103 for detecting the lighting state of the monitor 102; a determination unit 104 for determining whether location registration with a network should be performed or restrained depending on the lighting state of the monitor 102 detected by the lighting detection unit 103; and a transmission unit 110 for transmitting location registration requests more frequently than when the determination unit 104 determines the location registration should be restrained if the determination unit 104 has determined the location registration should be performed. This allows a higher or lower possibility that a user is looking at a monitor of the mobile communication terminal to be reflected on a frequency at which the location registration is performed. |
