PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas meter in which automatic recovery is attained after seismic shutdown so that convenience is enlarged and safety property is enhanced.SOLUTION: A gas meter includes: a shutdown valve (8) for shutting down a gas supply passage (4); a seismic part (16) for sensing a quake; gas leakage sensing means (pressure sensor 10) for sensing gas leakage at the gas supply passage on a downstream side of the shutdown valve; and control means (information processing unit 14) for causing the shutdown valve to be opened while setting function restriction, provided that after the shutdown valve is closed when the seismic part senses a quake greater than a prescribed value, the gas leakage sensing means does not sense gas leakage.
