PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfy both of focus detection performance by an image-pickup-surface phase difference system and imaging performance.SOLUTION: An imaging element 107 comprises: a plurality of pixels arranged in the form of a two-dimensional matrix; and a microlens 305 arranged for each of the pixels and making light corresponding to an optical image incident on the pixels. Each of the pixels includes a plurality of photoelectric conversion parts 301 and 302 divided by a first number of divisions in a predetermined first direction and divided by a second number of divisions in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction. In the microlens, a second curvature in the second direction is larger than a first curvature in the first direction. |
