The ship (1) has a hull element (4, 4 ') arranged in effective range of pressure pulses of a steering propeller (2). The hull element is elastically supported in rotatable or stationary part of a support structure (5, 7) of the propeller and/or to a ship structure. The hull element closes propeller wells in the ship. The hull element is vertically arranged above the propeller. Spring elements and/or vibration dampers (3, 3 ') are elastically supported in the hull element. The spring elements and/or vibration dampers are in the form of bearing elements and/or spring elements. An independent claim is also included for a method for reducing noise generation in a ship.
