GRAPHENE NANOSHEETS AS AN ANTIBACTERIAL AGENT

The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a graphene nanosheet having an antibacterial component. The technical point of the present invention is to utilize a graphene nanosheet as a proper material for an antibacterial medium. The graphene nanosheet has antibacterial activity against four types of pathogenic bacteria including two types of gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli & Salmonella typhimurium) and two types of gram-positive bacteria (Enterococcus faecalis & Bacillus subtilis). The antibacterial activity of the graphene nanosheet against pathogenic bacteria, which is tested via a micro-dilution method, is enhanced distinctly compared with commercial antibacterial pharmaceutical compositions owing to the antibacterial activity against pathogenic bacteria and the minimal condensation of the graphene nanosheet.
