PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rare earth anisotropic magnet capable of obtaining high coercive force while suppressing use of rare elements.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a rare earth anisotropic magnet includes: a molding step in which a mixed raw material obtained by mixing a magnet raw material capable of generating RTMBtype crystal which is a tetragonal compound of a rare earth element (R), boron (B), and a transition element (TM), and a diffusion raw material which becomes a supply source of at least the rare earth element (R') and Cu is pressurized and molded to form a compact; and a diffusion step in which that compact is heated to diffuse at least R' and Cu to the surface of the RTMBtype crystal or a crystal grain boundary. According to this manufacturing method, since the diffusion raw material having high wettability covers the RTMBtype crystal at a low melting point, the rare earth anisotropic magnet having high coercive force can be obtained without diluting magnetization capable of being originally developed by the magnet raw material. |
