PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide novel solutions for promoting pigmentation of the skin, hair and/or body hair, thereby preventing or decreasing white hair.SOLUTION: This invention relates to the use of at least one 15-hydroxyprostaglandin dehydrogenase inhibitor in a composition for stimulating pigmentation of the skin and/or skin appendages or for the preparation of the composition. This invention further relates to a composition that comprises such inhibitors and a cosmetic method for stimulating pigmentation of the skin and/or hair.
