PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent discontinuity of operations for returning to an initial state in stopping camera shake correction control, in an imaging apparatus employing a plurality of camera shake correction means.SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises: vibration detection means (102, 122) for detecting a vibration applied to the imaging apparatus and outputting a vibration signal; a plurality of correction means (113, 114, 117, 124) for correcting image vibration caused by the vibration; calculation means (106, 107, 126) for calculating respective vibration correction signals for the plurality of correction means on the basis of the vibration signal; and an initial position return control unit (128) for shifting the plurality of correction means to initial states being the states of the plurality of correction means in a case where vibration is not detected, when stopping the correction of the image vibration. The initial position return control unit controls to match starting times for shifting the plurality of correction means to the initial states, and to match finishing times for shifting the plurality correction means to the initial states. |
