The present invention addresses the problem of providing a screw compressor that has a reduced size and is capable of reducing the amount of oil loss, and a chiller unit provided therewith. The oil separator of the screw compressor according to the present invention comprises an outer cylinder, an inner cylinder that is positioned inside the outer cylinder, and an introduction flow path whereby refrigerant discharged from a compression chamber is introduced so as to circle in the peripheral direction of the inner wall surface of the outer cylinder. The upper end section of the inner cylinder is held by the oil separator such that the outer wall of the inner cylinder is held so as to be separated from the inner wall of the outer cylinder. The diameter of the inner wall of the outer cylinder is configured to gradually decrease along the circling flow path in which the refrigerant that enters via the introduction flow path circles. The refrigerant that has entered via the introduction flow path is separated into gas refrigerant and oil by circling and descending along a front circulation path that is the inner wall of the outer cylinder. The separated gaseous refrigerant subsequently flows from the lower end section of the inner cylinder into the inner cylinder and rises, and the separated oil flows downward along the inner wall surface of the outer cylinder. |
