The spindle motor has a rotatable motor component (24) that is arranged relative to the fixed motor components (10,12) by a fluid dynamic bearing system. An axial force generating unit is arranged to bias the fluid dynamic thrust bearing (26). An electromagnetic drive unit is equipped to rotate the rotatable motor component, and is provided with a stator assembly (32) at fixed motor component and rotor magnet (34) at rotatable motor component. The axial force generating unit is provided for generating an aerodynamic force to the fan wheel (40).
