The present invention relates to a mobile terminal and a method for displaying an image using the same. A screen of a display device is used to maximally display an image being played, and a screen of the mobile terminal is used as a space for providing a control and additional information of the image being played. The present invention provides the mobile terminal and the displaying method of the image using the same, wherein the mobile terminal and the display device are connected with a TV-out cable to play an image file in the mobile terminal, the mobile terminal transmits the image information of the image file being played to the display device through the TV-out cable, and the mobile terminal blocks the display of image information of the image being played and displays an image control window or an additional information.
