The connection element (2) has spring arms (5a, 5b) for fastening the connection element in a receiving space of a contact element in a clamping manner, where the spring arms are arranged at the connection element in a resilient manner. The connection element is designed as a tubular or cylindrical sleeve (6). A continuous slot (8) is provided over an entire height of the sleeve under formation of the spring arms. Each spring arm is provided with a catch hook. A flexible tongue (9) extends into interior of the sleeve. An independent claim is also included for a contact element comprising a wall opening.
