Control module for electric wheelchair

A control module for an electrically powered wheelchair is configured to generate control signals for the electrically powered wheelchair in response to user input. The control module 300 (also see 40 fig 1B), comprises a base portion, a joystick 304 for receiving user input via movements relative to the base (102 fig 2A) to generate the control signals and further comprises a mount for mounting a screen 302 for displaying wheelchair operation information to a user. The screen 302 may be mounted via a cradle (322 fig 9D) with clips (324 fig 9D). Input buttons 308, a cable outlet 310 and jog/selection dials 306 are also provided. The screen 302 may be adjustable through 90 degrees between landscape and portrait orientations. The mount (104 fig 2A & 240 fig 6B) typically provides a ball and socket arrangement for allowing the screen (100 fig 2A & 230 fig 6B) to be pivoted to the most favorable angle for the user.
