PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a touch switch device that can detect a failure in a touch detection section for detecting operating states of touch switches. SOLUTION: The touch switch device includes a failure detection section 12 for detecting a failure in a touch detection section 11 on the basis of a difference between a first capacitance detected by the touch detection section 11 when a switching element 70 is turned on, with a selection circuit 13 connecting a detection terminal 41 of a detection terminal section 40 to a detection input terminal 51 of the touch detection section 11, and a second capacitance detected by the touch detection section when the switching element 70 is turned off.
