The present invention provides a backlight unit which comprises: a light guide plate; a LED assembly which is located on one side of the light guide plate, and includes a LED printed circuit board and a plurality of LEDs, mounted to the LED circuit board, having a shape that one side among the four sides surrounding an light-emitting surface is opened; and a reflecting plate located at the bottom part of the light guide plate.
