PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of an electrophoresis display device due to humidity for prolonging the life of the device and manufacturing the device inexpensively. SOLUTION: A display module 10 is sealed hermetically by a moistureproof transparent plate 3 covering the display face side of the display module 10 using an electrophoresis display element and a moistureproof cover member 5 covering its back face side when extension parts 3a and 5a individually extended beyond the circumferential edges of the display module are stuck to each other. Along the inside face of the moistureproof cover member 5 to the extension part 5a, a moistened moisture retentive member 7 with a water content of 50% or more is arranged, and the extension part 5a of the moistureproof cover member 5 and the extension part 3a of the moistureproof transparent plate 3 are stuck together while putting the moisture retentive member 7 between them.
