Video photographs of the surface of a patient (5) and/or part of the body are provided, in which surface parts are identified by computer-assistance by comparing appropriate stored patient data surface parts, allowing allocation of the space position of the patient (5) and/or part of the body, and the patient data set. Identified surface parts points, point quantities, point outlines of the surface are used for identification. The stored patient data set is correspondingly compared to the surface parts by a computer-assisted matching method.
