The measuring device (2) has a measuring head (12) which is movable between a rest position and a measuring position, and is connected to a base portion (18) through a rod (14). The measuring head is configured to follow the measuring position orbital rotations of a test portion. The measurement head is provided with deflectable probe for recording measured values during a measuring process. A control device configured for controlling the measuring process and is constructed and arranged such that a measuring device is calibrated in a calibration mode. An independent claim is included for a method for operating an in-process measurement of the specimens during a machining operation on a machine tool. |
