The engine (1) has a combustion chamber (2) designed to operate with a two-stage combustion, where a fuel-air-mixture is ignited and burned in the combustion chamber. The combustion chamber is divided into a processing chamber (5) and a main combustion chamber (6) through areas (3, 4), where the processing chamber has smaller diameter than the main chamber. A main nozzle (9) and a processing nozzle (10) are attached to the processing chamber, where the main nozzle is arranged coaxial to a symmetry axis of the combustion chamber. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an axial piston engine. |
