The device is characterized in that front tightening assembly (101) is mobile relative to rear body (10) and includes means (9) for joining to jaws (3), these means remaining active after said jaws (3) have gripped the component so that the movement of said jaws (3) results in movement of said joined assembly (101) which then applies forward traction on elongated component (E).
